About Us
The FarmWorker CARE Coalition (Coordination/Communication, Advocacy/Access, Research/Resources, Empowerment/Education) is a diverse group of agencies and organizations dedicated to improving the living and working conditionso fo agricultural workers in North San Diego County. members include representatives and leaders of local health and social service agencies, community-based organizations, educational institutions, local governmental agencies and grassroots groups.
HISTORY
The Coalition was founded in 2004 by Vista Community Clinic, the National Latino Research Center and Community HousingWorks to address broader economic, political, environmental and social disparities which impact migrant/farmworker communities. Previous farmworker-focused projects in North San Diego County were short-term and exclusively for coordination of services.
